ian and i just got back from seeing "lemony snicket and a serious of unfortunate events." i was really excited for weeks to see this film, mainly because the children's book it was based on is an amazinnnng series that if i had children, would make sure they owned in their own special library, but also because i just knew that it would be good.
and it was. i love love love when movies are beautifully woven but also play on the innocence of childhood and do it well. i know that ian liked it also (possibly a little less than me since i am obsessed with childrens' books---it's starting to overwhelm my little room. i've spent a portion of all of my paychecks on at least one childrens' book each pay period.)
afterwards, we went to hollywood video because the mother of the child i babysit for (and have for over a year now---goodness, it doesn't seem like it's been that long until i think back on it) got ten free rentals to them when she bought some electronic device, and since she has netflix, had no use for the rentals. ian and i got a dual membership and i started drooling at the options of movies to rent. they actually HAD a foreign film section, something i missed since west coast lacked that, and ended up renting "coffee and cigarettes," this weird cartoon i've been wanting to see called 'the happy tree friends' (that has a parental advisory sticker on the front---that MEANS it's good) and, just because i wanted to hear cole porter's songs interpreted by different artists, "de-lovely." all for free since i have the passes!
i'm pumped about the idea of renting movies i've been waiting to see.
he's downstairs warming up the pasta with soy chicken and triple mushroom sauce he made us for dinner so we can cuddle and watch one of the movies we rented.

life is good and i am content.

prove me wrong.
